with a harvest so plentiful,
why is there no joy
with billows of copper creams within the sky,
why do I fear tomorrow
with air as crisp as heirloom apples,
why isn’t laughter around us
with Autumn expressing herself just so,
why am I alone
with a voice shaking towards the bluest of sky,
why, oh why, can’t I fly.

Reality Transformed
Needing to remember because every single person matters.
Wanting to forget because it hurts to acknowledge the fear this day created.
Knowing we are surrounded by bravery, men and women much braver than I, every day should humble us. Quiet the noise and ridiculous fighting our nation cannot get away from.
I am humbled.
Thank you.
9-11 changed us.
Lives were lost. Lives were transformed. Lives were offered hope. Lives stood in protection. Lives united.
We are a blessed nation every day moving forward. Never forget.

intellect’s vast questioning
truth we want denied
Nothing Has Changed
Fear
sitting in the valley
of what might be
for the first time,
suffocating
Dowager
Mentor
Stronger Than You Believe
Circle, little hands spin
Keeps close watch
Talks every now and then
Reminds me of effort
And where life remains
So little are we
Upon this earth
Words still cut, cause pain
Hurt
Our investment required
The outcome
After experience, noteworthy
Exhale shame
Inhale wisdom
Keep time as your guide
And be proud of your name

Q – Quell
Where did you go
The deep hum, of your voice
Followed me in, but didn’t
Retreat along side of me
When I fled. My expectation
Wasn’t fair, I know.
The work is hard,
Battle even more so.
Are you still fighting,
Does the war continue,
Did strength
Defeat in there?
Soft hands still covering
Fragile heart. Fate leads
a Warrior. Love will win.
Strong.

Almost Always
I Offered Myself To You
Thoughtful and creative words
Full of thankfulness,
Reflect me, as a woman
Appreciative of being heard.
These gifts
Are nothing in comparison
To my submission
As I offered myself to you.
I waited a long time to be seen
Through your poetic eyes
Read my poetry, and find clearly
I felt you long before you arrived.
