Composition in crystalline,
Respite for loneliness.
Comfort adrift with dawn,
Now amongst the sea’s sound.
Anxious waves bundle near,
Overtaking the shore,
Reaching to lap at my toes,
And wet my lost tears.
Submersion evident,
I’ll feel again there,
Hush my aching.
This is a sad one! Aching always is rotten, I’m thinking, isn’t it?

Yes, this is a sad one, but alongside some hope, I think. Can you sense it? Aching is good and bad.

That particular line came first, John. Everything else written around it. Glad the idea resonated with you. Thank you.

Lovely – I like the way that ‘shore’ seems to echo ‘dawn’, which drags your eye back through the poem.
