Wishing On Stars
Stunner of a find
Cluster of stars for wishing
To be where you are
Earth’s verdant backdrop perfect
Feeling closer already
Together We’ll Go
we should climb to the top
take a glimpse of the other side
holding tight, refusing to stop
enlightenment from on high
with an encouraging momentum found
best to start down low
travel slowly just off the ground
breathe deeply, and together we’ll go
My Distraction
Tried distraction, doesn’t work
Applied common sense, not in this instance
Monitored my sanity, you’re not a figment

Quite peaceful, mellow
Watching her follow him
Incredibly perfect
Hidden Stardust
Inside her, almost vibrating life
Was every sparkle, she had to hide

Hidden quietly, her undeniable breath
April came again, as it did last year
Every bit of her worry, is still her fear
What glows from within her suffocates
While she considers, what’s no longer at stake
As magenta opens and offers a view
It is he who still sees through
Understands her stardust, and always has
She found here, awaiting his hand
Nights
On reflective nights like tonight,
When my love senses yours,
I’m left bashful and afraid.
Ill equipped through distance,
To help heal any pain.
I realize, my words will never be enough,
And only my touch would do.
Sweet Treat
Miniscule bundles,
Perfection, independently.
Candy like in color,
Effortless abilities, proven in infancy.
One of spring’s early risers,
Easily resists conformity.
Among similar wild arrivals,
She’s still nature’s sweetest treat.
Love in Ten Sentences
The challenge I was given was to write a poem about love and title it “Love in Ten Sentences.” Now, it must have 10 lines, each 4 words long, and every line must contain the word “love.” At the end of the poem, I’m to include a favorite quote about love.

Complete with different views

amber layers rest upon goodnight,
while an obsidian anchorage awaits
confusing darkness with light
might have been her first mistake
nothing comes from a starless sky
but an endless plea, more questions
left naive, with no honest answers why
sweet girl, that’s how this always happens
Alone
the allure of peach hues
leaves of seasons past, remain in view
sleek limbs rooted somewhere deep
symbolic of what I need, yet
find within myself, confusing, I know
simple answer, he must be wiser
i’m left terrified for him
and okay inside my mind alone

Following you, closing in on land
