Day Two – Red Headed Woman
Ms. Heartafire wants me to share my musical interests as part of the five day song challenge. Thanks for having me, Sister Ginger. I think you’ll like this one as much as I do..
The rules:
POST A SONG A DAY FOR FIVE CONSECUTIVE DAYS.
POST WHAT THE LYRICS MEAN TO YOU. (OPTIONAL)
POST THE NAME OF THE SONG AND VIDEO.
NOMINATE 1 OR 2 BLOGGERS EACH DAY OF THE CHALLENGE (I’ve made this optional…hoping that’s okay. If you want to participate, tell them I made you. 😉 )
Day Two: Bruce Springsteen’s Red Headed Woman
What the lyrics mean to me: I like knowing there’s a man who enjoys a redhead. Enough to sing a song about them, too. Not enough songs or poems about redheads if you ask me. Smiles.
This song makes me laugh every time I hear it. The man knows what he’s talking about…!
Enjoy..
Lady Misunderstood
Virgin white posy, shines,
Sighs towards the sun,
Her blossom relaxed
Submitting gracefully
Pearly, upon your eyes.
She, Seductress,
it would seem
For the unintended’s view,
Fragrance reveals essence,
As she prepares for you.

The first few moments
Of Autumn breeze
Smell of campfires,
Coffee roast,
And cooling green.
Sharp edge of season’s cusp
Will heat the day,
Softly accede to dusk,
This: a velvet season;
Verdant weakening.
Cerulean, crisp from up above,
Pillowed clouds,
Hum of change, my love,
Protectively
Quiets the negative.

My friend, Shari, encouraged me to write from A to Z.
As many of you know, her wisdom, writing and compassion has been a blessing in my life. I began sharing my poetry here in 2013 and she, along with many others, has encouraged even my weakest of heart.
I believe this challenge is just what I need to push myself. I will try. I haven’t set any sort of timeline for this, but my intentions are to keep revealing as routinely as possible.
I also think it’s important to recognize that I haven’t weighted this challenge with any sort of expectation or intended outcome. I’m no longer interested in disappointment or how it makes me react. This I offer to you as it is, just as I’ve always tried to offer myself.
I write to feel. Allowing myself movement freely. A window into my soul. I’ve chosen to leave each poem as it was firstly written. Quite humbling to see where my mind sits to wait over time.
Thank you for supporting my A to Z effort.
Here
All I keep thinking
is I took you home with me,
from here: my world.
Inside me,
there is a rhythm,
a melody and a presence
I recognize.
Weakening into a strength,
inside this cool air,
allowed me
to breathe, to feel
and be myself.
The quietness,
awakening my core
as I heard the sound of love;
pure devotion, nothing more.
I keep this spirit,
this lead, and confidence,
close.
You’re thriving,
more than simply alive
behind my breasts.
You’re beating continuously,
effortlessly wild,
yet, this isn’t enough.
I belong with you, here.

Moon Man…
Leave The Lights On
Wild West
For him, a place to sit,
Question the realities of life,
How to shape Texas into,
A dream, for he and his wife.
This step back in time,
Leaves me wondering,
Was this his perch for surveying,
The objects that were now rightfully his,
A new life, someday with kids.
Perhaps he offered this space to her,
Because he loved to watch her sew,
Soaked in a morning’s summer glow,
While he sat opposite the porch.
Upon that wooden stump,
Pondering her position, her post,
Maybe he had needs and wants.
Or did he have something else in mind,
Feeling fortunate having found,
A picture perfect setting,
To drive his senses wild.
Starlet
Sheer Focus
Just beyond this perfection,
Hard to change your focus, I know,
But, please do.
Overlook, no matter how hard it is,
Notice the wild grass protecting her,
I’m in love, I confess,
With verdant offerings.
Little bursts of flowers,
Purple and yellow,
Visions of wheat,
Now between your teeth,
Perhaps placed, behind your ear.
Earth, tickling my cheek, sprouting,
Life sways, as I try to convince,
Subtle beauty, I tease, can be just as intense.
Spring’s sky, perfectly blue,
Your smile, while we’re here,
Gently becomes our collective laugh,
As our eyes gaze upon her once again.
That one there… the one we looked past,
Her name: Sheer tangerine,
Count her petals,
Tell me she looks like me.
