Wouldn’t be a walk through my heart if we didn’t stop here, too.
Day Four: The One That Got Away – P!nk
The Rules:
POST A SONG A DAY FOR FIVE CONSECUTIVE DAYS. POST WHAT THE LYRICS MEAN TO YOU. (OPTIONAL) POST THE NAME OF THE SONG AND VIDEO. NOMINATE 1 OR 2 BLOGGERS EACH DAY OF THE CHALLENGE
if I came to you
vulnerable and open
would you reach for me,
one arm securing
all that I am,
while using the other
to point out across
my insecurities.
anchoring our eyes
as one,
and say
enough, these end.
then, holding tighter,
you would smell my hair.
I’ve always loved Otis Redding. I think Marc does a fantastic job on a timeless plea for love.
skin toned pink
upon yours, wishful thinking
oh, how you must feel

Day Two: Bruce Springsteen’s Red Headed Woman
What the lyrics mean to me: I like knowing there’s a man who enjoys a redhead. Enough to sing a song about them, too. Not enough songs or poems about redheads if you ask me. Smiles.
This song makes me laugh every time I hear it. The man knows what he’s talking about…!
It seems Ms. Hollie wants me to share my musical interests. My inspiration.
Music and I have an understanding, I don’t ask it where its been, if it doesn’t ask me and because of that we’re the best of friends having traveled similar paths.
Hollie caught me at a good time and completely off guard. Thank you, Sister Ginger. ♡
Go visit her poetry, if you don’t already, she’s the real deal.

If even for a moment
Could I feel you?
The warmth you provide
Somewhere,
other than here.
Remind me…
Why not here?
And in this moment
You heard my sigh,
Becoming aware of
My crush.
My blogging Anniversary snuck up on me. As soon as I saw this photo in my notifications box this morning, I realized it was April and I’d forgotten.
Four years?
You’ve held me accountable during the hardest four years of my life. Made me feel like a friend, a daughter, a sister and a lover.
Thank you for accepting me as I am, encouraging me to return to the poetry I love to write, and expecting me to share it because you know how desperately I need to…
the rumble returns
I hear him behind dark clouds
smell of Spring, joy of new
the impatient hail, patient sun
felt between lightening strikes,
twisting, changing, my view
as the wind calls out,
remember me.
I’d offer my heart, each beat,
for a moment of truth,
where feeling the security
of love
at its rawest, keeps me
invested, sure and confidant.
don’t tell me, show me
and I’ll wear love
on my skin, in my hair and
within my eyes once again.
our eyes never meet
our minds connect simultaneously
our bodies fight off retreat
because its eerie
and then,
here we are together,
something beautiful
pursue, in delicate blinks,
meaning
or occurrence, being
mindful of self
and any further damage
fantasy might do,
to the weakened sensibility,
experienced
around you
If I could wrap
Sea breeze around you
Sweep feathered flowers
Upon your cheek
Offer your hand mine, to hold,
Albeit bashfully,
Then I would.
Maybe it would be
The start of
You,
Someone complete
Shivers promoting
Springtime with an opinion
Nature amazes

Came home for lunch today and I’m freezing cold. It’s raining again.
I looked out my kitchen window and was inspired by the shadow my enormous tree had created on the concrete. Not sure my words reflect the object by any means, but I felt compelled to share.
Either way, I believe this picture will inspire another poem soon enough because I’m drawn to it. Maybe you are, too.
It’s a gloomy day, yet I’m perky, which doesn’t always pair with the rain. Maybe it’s time to dance…
Robin Redbreast, sing
Carol the streets
Announce our day.
My window is closed,
Yet she comes beyond
Glass, shades and shutters
To encourage flight
Not once noticing
I haven’t the wings
Required.
But how do I say no
When all I want
Is to fly.
