Warm
Wrapped blanket
Salty surge
Forgotten spindrift
Sparkles
Listen, for a clash
Of each traveling wave
Allowing submersion
Inside understanding
An opportunity to contemplate
Yet, still feel you near
My first thought after reading your comment was, I wish you’d have been there, too. *sigh* Thanks for reading, Dalo. I count on your imagination being spot on. Just writing this comment has me relaxing. How do you do that?!
Good evening, Johnnie. You deserve some time by the sea. It seems to inspire you and your prose is the better for it. Thank you for your attention to my poetry, my dear. It is you who continues to be amazing. β‘
I love the use and nouns and adjectives here and mostly in the first versesβ¦ I think you have achieved a wonderful poetic effect in a sort of concise and minimalist way!~ Congrats (once again) Aquileana π
Very kind of you to say, Aquileana. I believe I can be most effective through poetry. My writing can often be long winded. I appreciate your support. Hugs! Thank you…

Allowing submersion. This reminds me of one of my favorite words: abyss. For it is those depths that we are invited to see, think and breathe clearly. Well, at least for me. π
Abyss…yes, a fine word. There is something utterly calming about being still and surrounding ourselves with what we need to understand, Eric. I find you fascinating and your clarity refreshing. Thank you! π
So beautiful! I love being near the water (but not so much being on it, ha!) Your picture looks like it was taken on a cold day — guess that blanket helped?!
Thanks, Morgan. There is a love/hate relationship for some who part-time sail…those who sail love it. You need to witness the gleam in a sailor’s eye. It shows quite eaily how they adore the freedom sailing offers. Have a great day.
My first thought as I looked at the photo was “wish I was there” and then after reading your words I could imagine it so clearly ~

No, Duketh, I’m not. Tis in the 40s here. No swimming. *frowns* On the plus side, the sun came out today.

Woah. That’s pretty chilly, I’d say. It’s warming up here. Like the poem lots. Just sometimes they could be real, you know.

Thank you…yes, a very cold day! It is in the low 40s here and rainy. Blankets are always a good idea. Bundle up, but I gotta go where my heart leads.

That picture is perfect for your topic. Love the idea of a boat, it’s own master on the seas, approached by another master. What will happen?
