Been gone too long, this is home
Leaves feather her face
This poem written with my baby sister, Leah. Driving down back roads today enjoying each other’s company. She thinks I’m on WordPress too much, so in order to feel included she insisted on writing a Haiku with me. I think the poem turned out well. The picture was all her doing. She thinks she’s funny! Maybe she is…of course she is. She gets her humor from me. Making memories, my friends. Hugs!!
Good morning sighs,
The softest touch.
Delicate pastels,
Passionately whisper.
Lay yourself down,
Upon shaking ground,
Atop the dawn’s dew.
Allow yourself time,
Feel the earth quake.
Sensory fulfillment,
Of life with love, awaits.
Sadly
She’s not
Bullet proof
Waking up, everything to fear
Dependable rain falling all around
Strong, yet sadness drifts near
Reality’s hands around her neck
Leave that poet heart
A dreaming mess
To fight
Alone
Love winks when you’d rather ignore
Love consumes when you’d rather starve
Love explains when you’d rather stay silent
Love excuses when you’d rather blame
Love is consistent when you’d rather defer
Love proves when you’d rather theorize
Love believes when you’d rather crumble
Love conquers when you’d rather retreat

Looming
No matter your form
Proves that I’m adored
Closing in on me
Consuming
Finishing my day
Dark shades prepare
Allowing them to wash
Lavishly
Over my fears
Leading me towards fate
Unexpected arms open and guard
A shelter you’ve offered to provide
For parts of me I’ve never understood
Allowing me to finally feel beautiful

A morning of discovery
Souls awaken
Protectors surround deep purple
Guarding with swords of honor
Blushing shades of innocence
She relies on each Warrior
Sent by the Verduous King
To provide for her every need
She, his Violaceous Queen
Displayed pleasingly alfresco
Honoring him with her submission
Outside’s hot lava skyline
This fierce goodnight upon us
Lucent ignition over all of genesis
Beseeching your gallant return to me
Arriving as dawn’s good morning glory
I rode with my brother in law for a bit while the weather was cooperating the other day. I trust him with my life, so while riding his motorcycle I took a few pictures of our time together. Everyone say HI to my BIL, Double D. He’s been keeping my baby sister happy for years.
DD’s a man’s man, a diesel mechanic, and a farm boy originally from Colorado. The bonus is that this gem of a man is brilliant and plays the piano, as well. Nothing hotter than a Renaissance Man. My Sis can pick’em. Thanks for the ride, Double D. Love ya!
Open road
Ya wanna go

Enjoy today’s breeze
Command the bike easily
Yellow all around me and you
Chance meetings upon going faster
Random photography creates laughter
Our distance disguised as intriguing

Rain tending to the sun beautifully
Through soft, yet dark, cloud pillows
Curtains of rain will wash the sun
Sun submitting to the rain’s shower
A risk, plentiful if carefully tended to
This moment locked sublimely away
Will include wishing thoughts of you
Quietly, I approach the black night
Looking for a glimpse of elusive you
Never far away, yet always out of sight
I crave your flighty essence, my dear
Leaning into who I believe you are
I wait patiently for you to arrive
Shadows lurking beneath the water
I sense that you are incredibly near
Elusiveness keeps your heart beating
Day dwellers will never be your type
However, I’ve seen you rise for me
Your calmness soothes irrational fears

Field Daisy born of trouble
Rocks breathing life into her

Golden Kansas wheat sways
Beneath this huge agitated sky
