For him, a place to sit,
Question the realities of life,
How to shape Texas into,
A dream, for he and his wife.
This step back in time,
Leaves me wondering,
Was this his perch for surveying,
The objects that were now rightfully his,
A new life, someday with kids.
Perhaps he offered this space to her,
Because he loved to watch her sew,
Soaked in a morning’s summer glow,
While he sat opposite the porch.
Upon that wooden stump,
Pondering her position, her post,
Maybe he had needs and wants.
Or did he have something else in mind,
Feeling fortunate having found,
A picture perfect setting,
To drive his senses wild.

Sheer Focus
Just beyond this perfection,
Hard to change your focus, I know,
But, please do.
Overlook, no matter how hard it is,
Notice the wild grass protecting her,
I’m in love, I confess,
With verdant offerings.
Little bursts of flowers,
Purple and yellow,
Visions of wheat,
Now between your teeth,
Perhaps placed, behind your ear.
Earth, tickling my cheek, sprouting,
Life sways, as I try to convince,
Subtle beauty, I tease, can be just as intense.
Spring’s sky, perfectly blue,
Your smile, while we’re here,
Gently becomes our collective laugh,
As our eyes gaze upon her once again.
That one there… the one we looked past,
Her name: Sheer tangerine,
Count her petals,
Tell me she looks like me.

A Way About Her
She has a way about her,
That’s what they’ve always said.
Blushes from the inside out,
Does it to herself, often, she dreads.
Others noticing, believing she naive,
What they’ve failed to catch,
All along, is her authenticity.
Along with the hints, and whisperings,
Just now being perceived.
Tips full of sunshine,
With a body full of hopes and dreams.

Ease
There’s a feeling that exists
History has proven love lives
Like a breath of fresh air
We acknowledge when it arrives
Our bodies begin to relax, usually
Become water, when it’s right
A penetration of care
Flowing over our skin
Perfect temperature
Healing as it descends
Further on
Past our eyes
Which see doubt
Beyond our hearts
That feel protective
Over our core
Already aching
For more, of the same
Truth told, we crave love
Not only our selves
But our minds
A saturation combined with ease
Allows our imagination to thrive
In communion, as well
A perfection, pointless to hide
Streams through us, honestly
Sustainable serenity, alive
