Sheer Focus

image

Just beyond this perfection,
Hard to change your focus, I know,
But, please do.
Overlook, no matter how hard it is,
Notice the wild grass protecting her,
I’m in love, I confess,
With verdant offerings.
Little bursts of flowers,
Purple and yellow,
Visions of wheat,
Now between your teeth,
Perhaps placed, behind your ear.
Earth, tickling my cheek, sprouting,
Life sways, as I try to convince,
Subtle beauty, I tease, can be just as intense.
Spring’s sky, perfectly blue,
Your smile, while we’re here,
Gently becomes our collective laugh,
As our eyes gaze upon her once again.
That one there… the one we looked past,
Her name: Sheer tangerine,
Count her petals,
Tell me she looks like me.

Brace Yourselves…She’s Feeling Chatty

One of my favorite guys, Mr. Mark Bialczak of What Will I Write About Next, used the sneak approach to get me to accept the Liebster Award he offered out a few weeks ago. How’d he do it? He asked the right questions.

I admit to being caught off guard by Mark’s nod in my direction, but I have no good explanation as to why. You see, we talk weekly via our blog posts and quite rightly enjoy each other’s company, so it shouldn’t have been such a shock. How did we meet? I can’t remember, but we bonded a year ago over nicknames. He likes using them and so do I.

An Argument – Part 2

image

“Take the blindfold off, my dear!”
“Just a minute. Not much further now. Step…step…step…oh, wait! Knees, up. Okay, step…step…step…steeeeppp.”
“You’re doing this on purpose aren’t you? These don’t feels like true steps I’m walking on, Ma’am.”
” Well, they are, Mister!”
“I’m slowly losing my patience, Lady..”
“Relax. We’re here. You used to be more fun, you know?”
“Here! Take this dumb cloth. *looking around*  What? You’ve got to be joking…”
“What’s the matter?”
“We’re at the park. Not the quilt and the clouds again! You tricked me! I knew those weren’t real steps I was climbing.”
“Oh, just lay down on the quilt, you old goat. We have fighting to do.”
“I want to begin by saying that I am not looking for anything in those clouds today. Rats, I say, to all elephants!”
“This is where we do our best thinking, my dear.”
“No, this is where you bring me to try and change my mind. I recall this spot, and our discussion perfectly. We fought my dear.”
“Now quit! I think this time we’ll be more productive. Have some faith. ”
“We are never productive, my sweet.”
“Yes we are! Why just yesterday we agreed on naming our slug. I say bravo for that feat. Wouldn’t you, Sir?”
“I don’t know. I can’t remember back that far.”
“You don’t remember yesterday, but you can remember the spot where we first fought?”
“Well, yes, so it seems…”
“How romantic, Dear. ”
“No, I call that self perseverance. ”
“How’s that?”
“One should remember their way around a battlefield.”
“This quilt, my mother made, is not a battlefield…!”
“Wanna bet, Hun?”

I think these two have a story to tell. We’ll be checking back in with them from time to time.

Their first discussion can be found here, if you’d like to read their first fight.

I know its wordless Wednesday. What does that even mean…

Problematic

Spent time meditating
I vision you gravitating
Wandering near by
Creating a happy lady
Can you see my smile
Reminiscing
Lips curled up in a purse
Eyes heavy and lazy
Drifting and remembering
Nothing better in this world
Than you responding
The reaction it gives me
You’d deem problematic
I find that awesome-fantastic
Do you feel me

Crimson Queen

Dark footsteps sounding
A calmness overtakes
You’re coming
Release me
I’m begging
Allow her to breathe
Your power
Devours
I’m ready
Take all of me
Instantly
Invite her senses
Welcome her inside
I’m ready
By agreeing
Your world will change
Stay impressionable
It would behoove you
Yet, I’m ready
My name on your lips
Princess of Darkness
How little you truly know
My dear, my love
I see my throne
Make room
I’m ready
I will
Command your lips
You will
Identify my new name
The Crimson Queen
In all her beauty
Alive
Living
Ready

Dragon’s Loyalty Award: I’ve Been Lifted Up

I have to accept the award given to me twice yesterday. The Dragon’s Loyalty Award has become one of my favorites, so the chance to blog about it again is so very welcomed. I’m thrilled to be acknowledged by two humorists or humourists. They’re brilliant at pulling out a chuckle or smirk. I was offered a new button for this award, but there’s something about this one that I like, so I’m keeping it. I’ve offered the other two options below, but first let’s get to the two bloggers responsible for making my day brighter yesterday.
