I laugh
because I knew.
I was thankful
For your retreat.
I identified completely,
With your need.
I understood
The purpose.
I wasn’t the manifestation,
Of your childhood dream.
I have always been,
Oddly unexpected, in the end.
Everyone’s dream – a home where one is safe and loved – this house has much to offer, so has the poet, neither expecting too much of the other. Wonderful partnership.
Both left me surprised. I enjoyed finding this house. A while back, when out for a drive, my dad and I were house hunting in an old fishing town. I fell in love with the abandoned home’s expression. Sometimes, usually, I’m just as my name suggests—Aud/Odd.
Have a nice weekend, Friend.
Haven’t been online in a couple of days, but I wanted you to know your past few poems are lovely and so are the photos! I can almost hear the waves rolling in on one — this house looks like it’s startled!
Hi, Debbie. Thank you so much for stopping in. The waves, sometimes, say more than I. I thought this house looked shocked, as well. Giggle. Hope you are well. Have a nice weekend. ♡
I love how this poem turns in the end into a new and fresh look at things.

Hahahah. That’s funny @Aud/Odd. Believe me, you’re not the only one. And who wants to be normal anyways. So glad your odd, Aud.
