Been fussing with my tree for a few days. Tryin’ to create festive feelings by decorating. Each morning brings colder weather and along with it the sniffles and coughs.
The children have been giving 100% in all their activities and with school. My responsibilities are being tended to, as well. The Christmas season is upon us. A lot to be thankful for this year. Today, we’re going to take in the wonder of our many blessings.
I hope you do, as well.
Happy Sunday, Y’all.
Wow!! A nice Xmas’ tree ๐ A hug

A lovely, old-fashioned looking tree — I like it. I hope the coughs and sniffles ease away.

Part of the old fashioned part is the filtering of the photo, but yeah, it’s old school. On the mend, for sure. Thanks, Gus

Funny how the little things make for the best time machines.

Amazing how very few words often create the best wistful thoughts. A sweet realization. They really do.

Mostly, each glance allows me a moment to pray for new memories. All about adding to, I believe. Time machines go forward too, right? Wouldn’t mind a preview.

A traveler came to a well outside a town wall and approached the old man near it. Greeting him he asked “What are those inside the wall like Sir?” Looking up the old man smiled and replied in kind by asking “What kind of people were in the last town you lived in?” Perplexed and bewildered, the traveller said “They were of the worst sort, liars, thieves and heartbreakers one and all Sir.” Smiling up at him the wizened gentleman nodded and said “You’ll find only the same here my good traveller.”
There, I’ve shown you the future. Does that count as a virtual Christmas gift or as a dubious psychic reading?

Giggle. My sixth sense was right all along. One day I will get to kick you in the ass with my furry boot. You just sealed your fate.
Nice story, btw. More of the same..got it.

Ummm…, so you say.
Not at all ma’am. You can find flowers on the battlefield if you look. You are surrounded by love and happiness just as you are loathing and fear. People have a way of coming to that which they see.
Good luck.

I appreciate you saying so, Dan. I always have help and each year the children’s memories get a little better, which makes for moving them to a more sensible spot later a bit harder. I’ve learned to be happy with their placement. One day they’ll be too busy. Thanks a lot.

Man, I should have paid closer attention to the ornaments in my picture. Should have put the prettier ones in it. Pays to think it through…lol. This tree, in general, every year probably, is random at best. ๐

Gee, I remember when Domer was little and our Christmas trees were chock-full with “memory” ornaments — enjoy those days, Audrey, for they, too, shall surely pass. As will the sniffles! Happy Sunday to you and yours. ‘Tis an excellent time for snuggles, hot cocoa, and lots of TLC!!

I have a soft place for memory ornaments, Debbie. My children and those I’ve taught over the years have gifted me with some sweet ones. I also like to pick up ornaments that take me back to moments I don’t want to forget each year. The children and I did the Advent reading in church this morning. A wonderful way to begin our day. Definitely celebrating a relaxed day. It’s been earned. Hugs!

Thanks, Butch. I do have a lot of memory ornaments, you’re correct. I’m an old softy…pure mush. My tree will always contain memories. I have ornaments made by my children at school and by my students while they were in my classroom. I’m glad you enjoy them, as well. You’re welcome โก
