His Devotee

her lack of confidence,
deep within,
sails past most
as they watch
day to day,
so intriguing, she,
a soul they want close.
Then One leans in,
comes a little closer,
sensing her heart,
listening.
The wait he’ll entertain,
a point of patience given,
proof of his ability
to see her,
and who she is,
true acceptance shown, granted.
The beginning of what is
meant to be,
his devotee.

Melt Away

In eloquence,
The possibilities endless.
Liken to winter’s brisk winds,
Yet, tingles differently.
Sensing a delightful change,
What freezes ends
And all inspite of pain.

In Due Course

After driving fourteen hours
Yesterday; a cloudy crisp rainy span,
I listened intently,
Searched every lyric
Each deep note
Not one brought you
To my already wandering mind.
Where are the words
Which describe what I need,
Probably who I crave you to be?
I wrote 14 sonnets,
Between various musical genres,
Not one found itself upon paper
With both hands on the wheel.
I’ve immortalized
Who you’ll be when you meet me.
I fear for you,
A little,
My giggle followed by a wide smile
And it was still raining, cold
When I finally reached home,
Warm under my cool bedding
Hot hand upon my hip,
It was there that I found you,
Hurry.

Like Driving Out of Control

All I want is you,
To make you proud
When all I can do
Is be me, when is
Enough good enough?
My steering wheel has
Too much bulk, my fingertips
Are cold, hold on, while
My heart drives out
Of control.
These shoes today, a horrible
Choice. Sure, watch me limp
Across the street,
Ha, still me wishful
Thinking, longing.
Curly hair, blown by
Monday’s fluttering wind
Let it be, messy again.
My mind spins against time
And all I hear is patience,
I’m fighting my
Inner child
