No Longer Safe?

Who are you?

Unknown

Why are you reading these verses?

Lurking

You haven’t even introduced yourselves…

Rude

I say selves, because there are a lot of you.

Strangers

English-speaking isn’t a requirement, but sure helps the poetry you consume –

Knowledge

Unnerving

Thousands now today, yesterday and last week.

Tell me why?

No longer a safe space.

Should I be scared?

Do I need protection?

Are you taking my poems for your own?

I should probably go.

  1. Ha, ha, this is brilliant, Aud. I’m not sure I’ve ever read a poem with such a perfect tongue-in-cheek perspective as this… and so fitting. I’ll be the first to admit I use your words/wisdom when writing my posts… so sue me, please 😊!

I do like how you so beautifully describe this uneasy dance between wanting to be read and wondering who is quietly lurking in the dark… Happy to know you’ll continue keeping your space open for us ~ a little oasis among the darkness. Enjoy your Sunday, my poetess!

    • Hehe heehee. You know you can have your way, dear Dalo. However, your words often inspire me so now we’re dancing.

Some people prefer words like lurking. Encourages a sort of process. I love the idea of frolicking through my words. More bees with honey so they say.

Thank you for your encouragement and sweet talk, my Photographer Philosopher Extraordinaire.

    • The booming stats in the multiple thousands email causes one to pause, indeed. Things that make ya go hmmmm? Do I know people in Singapore? Smiles. The motion my head made reminded me of when I used to say things like “ya wanna treat, Oscar” and his head would turn to one side and then the other… β™‘
      Deep thoughts.

  2. Not to worry. It’s just me. That ghost of Christmas past. I’m not here to scare you or anything like that. Just want to borrow a cup of coffee. Maybe a few words if you can spare them. I won’t touch anything. Promise. 😎
