I know a simple place
It draws me in
Like your heartbeat, my friend
A perfect spot for just you and me
Can we watch the sunset
Hold each other closely
Remind me
What I’ve missed
Yea, there’s a few trees
You know I like green
See the rain drops still glistening
On each and every leaf
The sun’s rays brighten your beautiful face
Paint me a picture of happy
Hold me
We’ll watch each raindrop fall,
as well as our sun
Slowly
Landing upon your chest
My breast
Sun so hot
Yet, the feel of your fingers ignite
This is awesome Audrey. I can see it as either being directed to a person or to God. For me, in my personal interpretation, it would be to God.
Beautiful and real.

Thank you, Staci. I agree either way, it is a personal affirmation, of sorts. So glad you liked the poem.

I like it…but…the professor shan’t get un-professorish about it! Seriously, love the imagery.

Love the title, and exactly what a sunset/rise should bring.

I like that, a bright force. Thanks, as with you and your words…poetry & art play such a great part of getting people to focus on life (and not on work & details). Cheers!
