walking forward into new
Lightly
seeking distance, and yet solace too
Lightly
profound grief crippling, yet with peace
Lightly
strength showing in spite of –
Lightly
missing sounds and his view on the day
Ever so …
watching time pass over and over again,
Haunting.
The most difficult thing about getting older is losing those loved ones who bring so much life and vitality in life. Very sorry to feel your sorry, Aud. This poem is such a tender and haunting piece. There is also something uplifting, I felt as I read it: the repetition of “Lightly” against the deep sadness of knowing we have to continue walking forward while still missing the daily sound and presence of the one we’ve lost. You’re simply wonderful, Audacious. ❤️

Did you lose your dad?? If so, I’m ever so sorry. I know what that feels like, having lost mine more than a decade ago. We girls just never get over missing our daddies! Big hugs to you, Poetess!
