Walking along neighborhoods,
nestled deeply into images of city life,
I found softness, and vibrancy.
Murmured pastels, somehow unafraid to show themselves,
and wide open.
Droves of minds walk right past their gumption.
Faces stuck to their iPhone.
My soul wept.

My soul wept too, Audrey. Sign of the times we live in. More people need to put away their phone and enjoy their surroundings. Lovely imagery! π

City folk are like that. They can make souls weep for sure.

It just saddened me to see how most of them don’t make eye contact with the people they walk by. When I finally had someone’s eye and said hello, the person’s reaction was kinda surprised. D.C. is a very busy place. I get that.
