Sandy beaches are my home
But, you, my Rocky Mountains
I love and need you the most
My heart, Boulder Canyon owns
Allow me to lose myself in you
Colorado River, strong and bold
It is you I long for each morning
Quench this fight inside me
My desires I want you claiming
Allow me to lose myself in you
Your trees of green remind me
To everything there is a season
Walking through, a true test
My love, without you, life not worth living
Allow me to lose myself in you
Colorado Rockies, my tried-and-true
Powerful force of dominance
I’ve spent my life claiming you
Waiting for you to call me home
Allow me to lose myself in you
Nice. I could lose myself in that river too!

They truly do, Leslie. Thank you for your comment. They are so inspiring for many reasons, but for me they bring me closer to those I love. Actually, help me love, if that makes sense.
Have a great night,

Thank you, Starr. It is my favorite place. Just thinking about this place all day has saddened me. I miss it so. π Have a great night! I’ve been in the sun all day. Looking for a bit of A/C now.

Love the Sierras as well. The phrase “Sierra Mountain High” just doesn’t have the impact. Nice post.

You go there, Audrey.
(And didn’t JD sing ‘West Virginia, Blue Ridge Mountains …)

I’m hoping to visit this summer, Mark.
(Yes, I believe he did. Mountains all the same, however. I was afraid this poem would stir thoughts of JD instead of my love, and these Mountains.)

That’s why I mentioned Blue Ridge to steer thoughts away … I’ve driven through Adirondacks and Berkshires and Catskills and Poconos and other east coast small ranges, and imagine the biggies out west to be very different.
Anyhow, I hope you get that chance to visit, Audrey.

Awe, look at you being so supportive. Maybe it’ll work. Yeah, they are different. The Rockies are fantastic. You and Karen should go some day.
I will and write all about it.

I liked his music personally. But it has been a long time since I listened to it. Intended as a compliment and the words were not what made me say that, but the spirit of longing for your mountain home. I can relate, gotta get to a beach soon. π

I don’t mind his music, Michael. He inspires so many people. I love that sort of spirit. Okay, thank you for clarifying yourself, but not needed. I was just showing you some dramatic arm flailing. LOL
The beach is always nice. π
