I’m quite upset this morning, don’t you see?
We were supposed to wake up screaming something like, “IT’S SNOWING!”
They let us know 19 hours too early, that school would be canceled today without thinking.
Whoopie! I’ll spend my day writing and baking. It’s just the weather to write of love-making.
I’ll keep the kettle hot for coffee, cocoa and tea, all the while children watch something on T.V.
No, I’m not up North and I haven’t moved back to the middle of this country.
You see, we’re still down here in cowboy country, but the snow apparently isn’t coming.
Texas had a winter warning, snow and ice it seemed, and me without my equipment for sledding.
I guess we’ll read and eat those muffins over there cooling.
Yes, eat them all day long, it seems.
We won’t get out of our jammies, I don’t care what you think.
Who closes school for a snow day 19 hours too early?
That would be Texas, we don’t have the road clearing means…
But please, wait until you see something happening.
Today, life was canceled for snow and ice.
I have two confused children who await explaining!
This wet and windy Brit feels your pain and sympathises with you……. The weather is wet and windy, not me!

I’m pretty good thanks, Audrey. I’ve completed my January challenge and feel like a puppy let off the leash, LOL!
I’m glad that I was able to make you laugh. Hope things aren’t too bad with the weather today. Hugs to you, too!

Loved this (but not snow, of which I’ve had enough, thank you very much!). It did indeed read like a poem!

Thank you, Kate. I giggled a lot while writing. I wanted it to feel like a poem and hoped some would see it that way, too. 🙂 Yay, Kate!!

Yum! We didn’t get any snow until a few hours ago…first the sleet and freezing rain. Will make for an interesting morning. Wishing you the best..stay warm. 🙂

We’re warm and also have the freezing rain. They shouldn’t call it a snow day here in Texas, maybe more of a “It’s just too stinkin’ cold day.”
Sounds like you need to stay warm! Enjoy!

Ah! I can tell we live in different climates – there you are looking forward to snow and here I am praying it goes away! Sorry you didn’t get any. Enjoyed this though…. well written and great flow.
Also – nice blog makeover! It’s been a little bit since I visited!

No snow yet, mostly bits of frozen rain. Still holding out that we’ll wake up tomorrow with a bit. Yes, south Texas doesn’t see much snow. My family up north is just as over the snow as you seem to be, Louise. Be strong!! 😉
Thank you! I think I’m happy with it. I hope people can find their way around. I worry a bit, but it should be okay. I’m so glad you came by to say Hi.

This sings like a poem! Nice. Sounds like you were expecting a great cold day. Maybe it will snow later?

It was supposed to, Duketh!! I’m so glad you noticed! Thank you.
Yes, I had all the fixings ready for a fun snow day, but I just knew nothing would come of it. I had to write the poem down last night as it seemed fitting.
Sleet for a bit and still raining, if the temp drops, snow maybe. The place smells great, so come get some pot roast if you’d like. 😀

I was reading and singing it! 😀
That would be nice. I have a feeling that Audith is a great cook!

You were? To the tune of??? 😀
Naw, probably just okay. What I lack in originality, I gain back by offering to sing for you while you eat. 😆 Now, my dear, that is dinner and a show.

It was a professorish hum and huff tune.
😆 Still sounds fun–and I still think you’re a great cook.

You’ve got some amazing talent going for you, red head!
Hope you had a great day … stay safe…. and warm!

We have a bit of sleet, so we’re hanging tight. Fingers crossed for a little white.
Becky, you made my day. Thanks for such a nice compliment, fellow red head. 🙂 Am I blushing, tell me quick…
Have a great day yourself!

Haha. You speak of a favorite of mine…Yeah, it is possible that I may have to run for public office. A midwesterner is needed inside each one of them for this reason alone. No, actually it is sleeting so we now have a chance…

We got our second snow in a week (and the day after the last one it was in the 60’s). Who’s playing darts with the weather? At least Mickie Dees will still be selling those happy meals… 🙂

So you got our snow. The last three days here have been in the 60’s. It was really hard to get on board with the idea that a winter wonderland was coming. I had my doubts. Seriously, darts isn’t their game.
LOL…is this what it has come to, Chris? You and I exchanging McDonalds references? 🙂 I’ll take it! 😆
Mickie Dees will not being seeing us today. It’s the principle behind the snow day…I just can’t leave. No matter how many good words I’d be potentially losing. 😀

19 is rather extreme. 12 hours happens up here to prevent people from getting their kids up for school and nothing happening. Maybe somebody saw a flake and panicked.

Yes, it seems the single snowflake worried too many important people in charge. Or it was last Friday’s mistake. We had an ice storm and they only postponed school by two hours when what they should have done was cancel it all together. I suppose there is still a chance that the weather will come…

I wish it would snow here. I think it is supposed to tomorrow. If we don’t get a good snow pack in the mountains it makes for a bad summer.

LOL…I’m glad you’re laughing. I could use your humor to make these two understand. 😆
Yes, snow is so important. I can remember the farmers begging for the snow to fall during the winter months back home. Snow packed mountains sound so nice. You make me miss them, but the driving…ugh.

Yup, that is what I hate, the driving. It can snow up in the mountains all it wants but down in the valley, please don’t, lol.

LOL…yeah, it can snow as much as it wants as I sit inside and watch out the window. 😀
