Charished and effortless reactions had been lost with distance.
Now welcomed back in with monumental excess, as we familiarize once again.
So simple is life when they’re along for the ride, I’ve found my peaceful heart.
Looking into familiar eyes long over due, man just look at you.
I can’t get enough of sibling love and only a few more days have we.
Come along back to Texas with me, please?
We’ll change lives together, forever a team, you and me.
My favorite sister, my sister-in-law, her sister, and I pack our respective bags and meet up every October. (No husbands or children allowed. π) We pile in one vehicle and head for the Texas Gulf Coast. There, we spend two or so wonderful weeks in a house on the beach. I think the four of us would go crazy without this time away together. Nothing like the company of a sister…or ladies who are as close to you as a sister. We have a blast!

Hi, WK, thank you so much for sharing your beautiful story. I love it. I live here in the Texas Gulf Coast and can think of nothing better than time here with sisters. My sisters are my best friends. I write for them a lot. Hugs. Enjoy your week. Wonderful to meet you…thanks for following my poetry.

I have been trying to persuade my sister-in-law to buy-in to a compound, where she and my family could all live together. I like TX but she wants Washington. I want my family around!

I think we have the compound discussion atleast three times a year. They want me home in NE. I wanna take them all and travel the world. I’ve got plans, Jacqui. π

Nebraska–what’s up there that would make you leave TX (besides family, of course)

Umm, well that’s just it, nothing. π But there is a simplicity in that life which I adore. Lots of fantastic people. No jobs. Plus my spirit can’t run there. π

Since I do a lot of online teaching (which I can do from anywhere), the ‘simplicity’ and ‘fantastic people’ sounds pretty good

Where? I am pretty conservative so will avoid college towns. I need safe because (husband and I are getting older–don’t tell anyone). Schools aren’t important because kids are grown, but friendly would be nice. I’m sick of unfriendly neighbors.

Well, I’d say south Houston, the Clear Lake area especially, would suit you. The water is nice here and everyday feels like a tropical vacation. People like that…me not as much, but the weather is mild. But boy is it humid… Lots retires and new empty nesters to meet. Most professionals and I happen to know of a great church. π North Houston is woodsy and has northern feel which I like.
A lot of people love Austin, TX for the uniqueness it offers, but its pretty trendy. Maybe a good vacation spot for the weekend. Texas Hill Country is gorgeous and the people fantastic. I love it there. I haven’t been to Corpus or Brownsburro but people say its nice.

Thanks. You don’t think? Yea, most of my friends who live near their siblings say it changes feelings. I haven’t lived near mine since we were kids. They all live within a couple of hours of each other. I feel a million miles away. Our story is a bit different.
2014 will bring lots of insight to the friendship we have as siblings to come. A lot of broken roads strengthened our bond. I feel blessed as it could have gone the other way.

Yes life is never easy especially where “broken Roads” are involved . You will find we all get there in the end. All roads lead to the same place. π God bless you and your family may you all be happy and find the right unbroken road to the destination. xxxxxx
