My Discovery

So, appearing simple,
And fated months before,
I, fearless cragswoman,
Listened to my inner voice.
Knowing when I entered,
Hessie’s Trailhead,
I’d consider life’s possibilities,
Determine my future goals,
Pass through time’s memories.
Not realizing I’d feel your essence,
Beneath a canopy of discovery,
I’ve held back, cowardly,
Yet to fully disclose, findings.
Now, if I don’t take you inside,
I fear, I’ll lose you,
To the calls of regret,
Maybe, to fear.

Writing Process Blog Tour: How I Write

I’ve just read Kate’s post on her writing process. I’m thrilled she accepted my nomination. She may just be getting started, but she’s definitely going places. Isn’t she something? I’d appreciate it if you gave her some love and had a look around. Kate’s just my kind of girl, funny, creative and has one heck of a generous heart. Well done, Kate!

Odyssey of a Novice Writer

The lovely Audrey Dawn, she of the Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister blog, has seen fit to nominate me for participation in a ‘Writing Process Blog Meme.’ To say I find this a daunting task is an understatement.  I don’t think I’ve ever stopped to consider whether I have a writing process.

Even so, it was with great pleasure that I accepted Audrey’s invitation to participate.  It is very gratifying to think that a writer of Audrey’s caliber is interested in how I do what I do.  Thank you, Audrey!

For those of you unfamiliar with Audrey’s blog, you may want to do something nice for yourself and spend some time visiting with her. You’ll thank me because Audrey has lots of good things in store for you: fine poetry, some nice fiction pieces – and even better, a warm and witty heart. Personally, I can’t think of a better way to spend some…

You Wanna Piece Of Me? Huh? Do ya?

“I could care less how much you get paid to do your job. The facts remain the same. One, your writing comes off as know-it-all. Two, you write yourself in an extremely ugly image (How many sticks are up there anyway?). Three, it doesn’t matter how accomplished you are, I wouldn’t sit for a moment with you and listen to your advice. You don’t get to tell anyone who they can be or when they can choose to be it. At the end of the day, Lady, you are self-important and very boring.” ~Oldest Daughter & Redheaded Sister

Tough day? Yeah, then sometimes I read blogs to relax and just have to shake my head.

Hey Blogger, I need to wipe my eyes clean after that comment. My advice? Screen your comment section or find time to filter through your followers. Write for followers that genuinely encourage, fairly review and enhance your goal towards being who you want to be, not someone willing to knock you down a few notches, while they tell you why they’re so freaking awesome.

Do you know what comes to mind….that elementary taunt that goes something like this….

Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah…I’m better than you are…

Remember I’m the Oldest Sister, and I stand up for those who haven’t figured life out for themselves yet.

I won’t be following that blog, either.

Gag me with a spoon!

Okay, as you were. My coffee’s done. It’s going to be a long night. I’ve found just the right state of mind to continue writing this chapter …

“Off, with her head!” (My character won’t even see it coming…)

Exodus 4:11-12…

Exodus 4:11-12

11 The Lord said to him, “Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the Lord? 12 Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.”

He speaks to me every time I read His words. I allow Him to work in me then I stuff it away deep inside. How do I trust what He has waiting for me? How do I allow Him to show me the path?

He tells me to speak and that He will teach me what to say.

I’m counting on it…
