Capable Radiance

If there ever comes a time
When you think
I don’t take
Great care of myself,
Tell me,
And I’ll prance who I am
Right past you,
Let you watch from a distance.
Over time, the realization
Will settle in, and
I will radiate over your skin.
It’ll be then you’ll understand
Regret.
Just so we’re clear,
I’m okay,
And having someone love me
Completely,
Is a gift I give them
Because I want to,
Not because I need to.

I wish you could watch and feel
The contentment, which surrounds
My every breath, listen for the sound
Yeah, it’s like that, Baby
Eyes fluttering, then casted down
And it’ll bring’em to their knees

Somewhere In Between

Divided by who she is and must be,
Complicated beauty, spinning.
Broken trust, yet willing to thrive,
Found from somewhere deep inside.
Torn between suffocating her color,
And accepting that which brings her life.
A painted essence you can see,
One she’ll deny continously.
You’ll want to rescue her, catch her,
Have the hand she leans towards first.
Know she’s twirling effortlessly,
Used to living sublimely,
Dedicated to using what’s hers,
Independence, her curse.
