Southwest

image

Growing
Whether intended or not
Pieces lost in battle
She’s found here
Among life’s surplus matter
She continues to twirl
Assimilating to her station
Rock and debris
Fragments
All suit her, strangely
Her beauty appealing
Red and yellow colors shine through
Hues of her personality
This known to be true
Comforted in troubled surroundings
Her artistry finds significance in rubble
See her petals
Call her, Firewheel
A Southwest Señorita
Preferring it hot

Shining inauspiciously in this spot

Simplicity

image

Whirls of adored simplicity
A delicacy in abounding view
Stretching her immaculate petals
A life of extravagance is her dream
Burdened to sway within these leaves
Predestined, but she agrees to glow
Allowing her white curves to show
Slender dancing limbs persuade
Pristine color an earthly fate
As we all watch intently
Indulging in her glow

King

image

Escaping
Multiple ways
Peaking through
A protective sheath
Darting into bloom
Look at me
Assuming his crown
Sauntering and taunting with the wind
Swaying as he anticipates
The sun’s kiss
Smothered in hues of blue
Rooted in purple
The color of Kings
Surveying his empire
Tip glowing
Surrounded in white
Empowered wildflower
Standing at attention
Waiting to be devoured
