Whispers in the depth of night
Whites of our eyes shining bright
Lips in movement
Words offer our reality
Conversing in shallow tunes
Touch, leaning into the heat of you
Expressing thoughts; gift to thee
Without fear, fate leads the he and she of our bonding.
I get caught up in the lyrics
a poet, most surely always has.
He listens to the music
proud of his favorite band.
I lean in closer,
following his lead
he listens for the horns,
I pray the words are for me.
An old song, but I like how it makes me feel. Kinda wishing this morning.
We’re getting so much snow.

I’d tell him all my secrets
beneath the covers,
his eyes my light.
nothing would be deemed
too frightening
or extreme,
there would be
a kindred aura
surrounding us,
he’d listen
and I’d feel safe
enough to speak.
Silent mornings,
Time of day,
When every word I crave,
Which resembles you,
Becomes as cowardly,
As I feel,
Then fades away.
Possibilities endless
Like the universe wide
Ocean waves
Long and lazy days
Opportunities knock
Take them in stride
Waiting for your time
