winter is coming
feel his fingers
slide
down, across and
through, I remind
myself.
frost, yes,
changes
how he’d feel on me.
I mustn’t forget
my soul hums
in autumn’s breeze.
What a gorgeous poem, Audrey. Reminds me of when I lived in snowy states, watching the first snowfall of the year, feeling both invigorated and also a bit locked in. The photo is true art – what an eye you have.
Thank you for seeing art in that photo, Shari. I sat in my car this morning waiting for it to warm, unaware of the frost before leaving, and saw beauty down the lane.
Winter brings it’s own joys. Love to you, my friend.
I thought “This too shall pass” is so often used that it has lost some of its intended impact so I’ll use different words. I’m glad to read that worked. 🙂
You have said a couple of times that a comment of mine has given you the belief that I knew what you were thinking/feeling when you created a particular poem, so you probably don’t need worry. 🙂
Quite Steamy for a chilly piece of prose 😉

I sure felt the steam, anyway.

This came just as a cold front came in and took our temps to 74 degrees. I don’t miss the frost. Thanks, Audrey.

A welcomed 74, I’m sure. The frost I don’t mind. Sitting on the step in a sweatshirt and drinking coffee weather…

Ha. Well, get on it. It’s starting to feel more like winter than fall here in Nebraska.

Yikes, I’m just not ready yet!! Today is gray and cool, though it’s supposed to warm up again. We’re in that back-and-forth stage!
