Untied to what caused me
To go beyond what I believed,
Past what I stood for
Lost sight for the trees.
I hurt you, but you caused pain first.
You lead me towards evil opportunity,
In the end, I was who I wasn’t,
You knew better, yet allowed me.
Exceptional, Audrey!!

I so adore those who speak truth
Unblushing… while bearing the naked soul…
Unafraid… to stand in the rain with one’s self…
Beautiful Audrey Dawn

Betrayed by the ones who are supposed to love us. Sadly, it happens all the time. Hope you are healing, Audrey.

I am focused on work and the day to day stuff. Keeps me open to healing. Tough days, yes, but don’t we all have them? This poem is one had I shared it too soon, would have probably hurt me further. I think releasing it now (years later) has helped with closure. Thanks for asking..checking on me. ♡

A mentor has a big responsibility to be truthful and honest on capability. Nice job, Audrey.

Yes, I agree. I’ve been both mentor and student. A level of maturity is required for both. Thank you, John

How easy it is to lose sight for the trees! Easy, too, to become a stranger to ourselves, right?!

I’m thrilled! Touched by your reaction, my friend. So good to have you stop in. This is a clearing in Colorado, one my family has hiked to for generations. I love being there. I do hope you have also enjoyed its beauty. ♡

I have. It looks like a place I used to take the dogs right outside of Cripple Creek. Lives right outside of Manitou Springs. Loved it up there.

This clearing is up and on the way to Jasper Lake. The trail begins near a small town called Eldora, CO. My families memories here go back generations. And not far from Cripple Creek, actually…small world, if indeed you’ve been!!!

I have been, many many times, not too far from Colorado Springs.

No kidding! Love knowing this! Most of my photos come from years of traveling there. My grandmother’s family is from Boulder. Her father was a doctor who volunteered when he could to make that area passable. Nederland and Eldora are second homes to us.

I was stationed at the Air Force Academy for 4 years. Did lots of exploring with my dogs in tow. Had the best time there.
