Hope contrast outside gave you pause to appreciate the warmth inside. Snug home and a good woodstove makes me appreciate such on nights like this.

I’ve done my best to appreciate what I’ve been given. For a brief moment there I thought maybe that was an invitation, C.
I grew up with a wood burning stove off our dining room. Loved warming my bottom there. And my toes. Hope you are warm tonight, Sir.

As much as I love a warm derriere, I doubt it’s worth the trip. The kid and I are a bit closer so we ventured downstairs a few times however.

I thrive on grey cloudy days and rain. Winter is that crystallized beauty where it looks like time has cease to move in its frozen state and the world moves forwards as that which is froze stays in perfect shape and never ages.
I just hate how people drive in the winter! AUGH! Total Charlie brown moment every time!

People don’t know how to drive most of the time. After 10 years in Texas, I’m hoping I remember all the important stuff when I battle snowy conditions. Good Ole Charlie.

We’re waiting on that same cold front, Audrey, but not expecting anything but cold wind and rain. I suppose into each week some gloom must come, right, or we’d never appreciate the sunshine! Stay warm … maybe a nice cup of cocoa?!!

Ya! I remember my first time in Redwood Shores in CA. The lady poured a mountain of food on my plate, and then said, ‘Honey, for a dollar more, I will give you lots more’
I gasped and said that i would give her a dollar if she would remove half of what was on my plate. She glared and waved me away.
Finally, i could only eat less than half of what she gave me in the first place

It’s important to know when you’ve had enough to eat. A hard lesson for a lot of us. So many try to comfort with food, either ourselves or those we love. I was raised a country girl. You feed those who work hard. However, people don’t work as hard as they used to in some areas of our country. Education is key. People are trying, which is good.

True! When i was inChina, i was 16 kg heavier than i am now… now, i am shortby American standards… so, finally i went to Cardiologist turned weight reduction expert…
He made me lose 10 kg.
Then, i lost another 4 recently
And then, another 2.
Now, i want to lose another 3
But… i will never be slim, trim and sexy the way i was in my teens! Sigh

My dear, not many of us are as tight as we were during our teenage years. But who we are now, can be sexy as hell. All ya need is confidence. Luckily, I was born with a huge amount of it. I blame my parents.

But, on another topic (for while!), the term ‘country girl’ has very different connotations in the US compared with India.
I am not sure what the US connotation is, but I read it to be clear complexioned, straight forward, healthy, clear eyes, and all that stuff…

Blaming them is the fun part. Yes, usually. Back woods girl usually has the negative connotations attached to it. Country girl just means I’m more in tune with my surrounding having minimal pavement. Country girls are still genuinely well educated and we’ll rounded.
