Exhausted leaves falling
Past my window
Pane. Just as ashes
of Jerico, the same.
Division is an end
and new begins.
Goldenrod hues
Remind me of adieu,
Forgiveness remains
Front of my mind,
And nothing stops
The hands of time.
Search for rebirth
And find me in you.
Redemption’s season
Where grace continues
This sits beautifully beside the works of Robert Frost and above. Stay Golden…..

I guess all kinds of things can be read into your work. I didn’t get a political bent when I read the words. I just saw the cleansing effect of the wither and rebirth process. Fall is a great metaphor for that concept. Very well done, Audrey.

John, where writing takes another’s mind will always surprise me. Especially in poetry. Poets often hide behind a message too deep to completely understand. Mine, usually, left to the effort of the reader. Either way, I’m grateful to be read. Heard. To be understood, well that always brings tears to my eyes. Always easier to feel less alone, I guess. Rebirth and continuing on is the theme of this poem. I also hoped to seduce the reader into possibilities of the positive. I’m really happy you enjoyed this, John. Thanks for sitting near by..

I’m finding myself staring at this beautiful photo, Audrey. Yes, the poem is delightful (I’d expect nothing less from you, you know), but the picture mesmerizes me. I love the juxtaposition of looking back and looking forward, and in seeing beauty BOTH ways!!

I’m so glad you liked the photo. There are moments I feel need capturing and I’m often left wishing I had a proper camera and education in photography. Relieved this came through okay. My poetry came rather quickly, I must admit. My soul needed this one heard, I suppose. Thank you, Debbie, for your constant support here.

“The first female president I vote for will stand for what I believe in.” Just want you to know that I have a lot of respect for that clear, concise statement of principal. Gender doth not make anyone the right one.
I also like the juxtaposition of the photo and words. It is a good reminder that the road past did have beauty and that there is more ahead. Thank you.

‘Tis lovely to know my poetry brings you back for another visit. Your effort to witness and be present in my journey is humbling. More beauty ahead. From your lips to God’s ears. Smiles. Thank you, Grumbly

An odd question, but, Yes, Sir, I did. As a woman and registered Democrat, I was happy to be one who stood for change. The first female president I vote for will stand for what I believe in.

Sigh….
At least, we are ahead of you there… our first lady Prime Minister was appointed in 1969. We have had a lady President.. and several lady Chief Ministers..
I think you folks in the US need to stop debating it, and just choose the best candidate..

Oh, we are ahead of you in this respect. You read the tales of rape, including child rape, and you realise that we are behind on other factors.
On the elections, I don’t like either candidate. Hillary, speaking as a South Asian, is dangerous. We have had enough meddling in our region, to be honest
