Showering sunrise
Rain swift and cool
Laying a wet blanket
Across me
Running to the car
“Don’t slip…”
I somehow hear.
Your chuckle
Following me,
Strong hand
Upon my hip
Protecting
Guiding
Is that possible
Im getting caught up slowly. I simply need to find a balance between blogging and writing. Im not doing enough of writing and my deadline is looming, so my presence may be more limited than it has been.
The amber sun…gorgeous, Poet. Love that image. If I inspired those words right there from you, then it is you who is lovely. Thank you, Shari.
I am teaching my daughter. She recently expressed a desire to learn how to photograph her feelings, which astounds me, since that’s what I do more than not. We were out on a drive in the country and she said, “Mom, see that tree over there? The one taller than the others, that’s me. I identify with that one…” She’s already 5’9 at age 12. A real redheaded beauty. She’s a poet. A writer more so, like you…she will do both beautifully. My son. We call him Pastor. He’s no poet but his empathy and directness is fine tuned.
Thank you..
Oh my goodness, Debbie. I like shifting through leaves, as well. I had two large piles of leaves in my front yard yesterday. Took me hours to bag them all. I’m over the sound and cuteness of it all for now. Smiles. I bet Dallas is fun to watch. Careful those leaves don’t get stuck in all that fur. :)♡
Sometimes we chuckle at things that maybe we should not…
and sometimes it’s just wonderful to stand in the rain…
with hands on both hips…

This day…there was definitely a chuckle and I loved hearing it, Michael. Maybe someday you can teach me to stand in the rain…

A lovely reminder of autumn and the glory of fallen leaves, amber sun, and rain, beautiful rain. Lovely poem, Audrey, lovely photo.
Are you teaching your kids photography and poetry? They couldn’t have a better teacher, you know.

Dallas and I LOVE shuffling through leaves like this! The swishing sound they make somehow transports me to childhood. And safety. Well done, ma’am!

Oh, but they do! He brings them into the house, too. ‘Tis a constant source of untidiness having a furry dog. Sigh.
