Kindred, was.
I’ve witnessed, and felt
Which means exists,
Was it you and I
Or he with she, or
Maybe all those moments
Which are,
That will never be, yet
Continue
Living so deeply inside
My soul. Me and you,
Were, yet
Are: relevant,
Not past tense; was.
You and I: am.
Kindred, soulmates,
And you feel it, too.
It is our great desire
for witnesses
and soulmates –
always –
feel it.

It’s the butterflies within our core. The goosebumps upon our skin and the thump of our heart..love has the ability. So cool. Thank you!!

I agree with smilecalm this was a deep embrace. Loved it! And the use of ‘kindred’ which I do not believe I have ever used in a poem, and it was perfect!

Those insipred feelings produced the opportunity to know how love feels. I believe both needed it. I hope you’ve considered using kindred. Love your poetry, Candice.

Our past is always part of us, and revisitation affords another opportunity to reconsider the impact on our present. Lovely poem and photo, Audrey, a good thought for a Sunday.

You do a lovely job of sorting my feelings with my words and explaining my message. I envy your writing, Shari. Your experience. ♡

But will it amount to anything other than a memory?

One must be okay with only the memory, I suppose. What’s that saying about star crossed lovers or whatever… Happens all the time.
