As my memories caress the hint
Of Spring’s sweet young breeze
I go in search of innocence
And where I began.
Auburn ringlets, sway
Carrying an eager tone of giggles
Found in fairytales of peace and virtue.
As I push my legs forward,
I daydream. Nothing has changed.
It’s wonderful to connect to the child that lives deep within us.

Always something special about the age of innocence, and it never really leaves ~ it sits in the back of our minds coming out when we daydream. Nice to see you back writing again on WP, cheers to a great spring ahead.

Yes, Photographer Philosopher Extraordinaire, and it’s lovely having you here to reassure me. Daydreaming: the art of innocence, maybe…everything you touch becomes obtainable, doesn’t it? Giggle. Wonderful to have you hear with me. You’ve been missed, Randall.

I don’t know. Maybe ’cause innocence (and memories) are more important than we really give them credit for. I mean, really more important.

Agreed. Memories shape our future in ways, I think. For example, positive memories encourage a certain path to continue which hopefully creates positive memories for generations to come.

A perfect marriage between words and photo Audrey. I bet you actually swung on the swing and had this experience that inspired this work.

I did swing, my friend. My longing to find this swing inspired the poem. Either way, all is right with my soul. 🙂

This image fits your thoughts perfectly! and this line in particular “…giggles found in fairy tales of peace and virtue…” sparks the imagination of a small blonde w/ ringlets as well 🙂

You know, Audrey, there’s magic in a swing. It’s practically universal in its symbolism of childhood and innocence, and nothing can transport our minds or quiet our emotions like the peaceful back-and-forth of swinging. Well done!

So very glad to know the little red headed girl maintains the essence of her childhood, Audrey. All its spirit and hope.
Great shot of the swing.

I’ve allowed myself to come home, Shari. My roots needed tending…feels right. And the scariest thing I’ve ever done was letting go. After 18 years, I let go.
Thank you!♡

Like flying off a swing and trusting that you’ll land on your feet. No proof, just faith that you will.
Hope you are OK where you landed.

It’s a crazy good feeling, yet, scary as hell every day. Faith is all I have and moving forward is slow and steady.
I’m much better than ok. Breathing again.
