My mind, what will I do?
He’s all I think about,
And nothing I had planned.
He’s water glossing over my skin,
And the comfort of the wind.
The smell of summer,
Yet, cool mountain air.
Allow him my heart,
I sigh, do I even dare?
He’s the sound of bullfrogs,
Late at night, while I dream.
Perfect words and lovely pitch,
And he whispers just for me.
Lines 2 and 3 – that’s love. Lingering…

This has to be the first time I’ve read a love poem with a bullfrog in it. Not one of those fairy tales with a frog turning into a prince, but a lovely poem with the paramour sounding out like a bullfrog. And it works well, Auds. It’s a crisp, vivid image — like the rest of your poem.

Well, if there would be one, it would come from Audrey, wouldn’t it. Giggle. Nature is quite romantic, I think. Thank you, my dear. I appreciate you thinking so, Gus. Truly. You take the time, my friend, and that is priceless. Hugs. xx

They are super cool. Deep and commanding, just perfect. You should listen for them. Surely you have some where you are, Duke.

No, just bothersome toads, you know. Are they jumpy? I mean, are they scared of humans, usually?

They are jumpy, I’d say. Not sure if they’re scared of humans. What do you suppose?

Probably not, because we don’t eat them after all.

No, I couldn’t eat a frog’s legs. Not at all. You should try…

I wonder and wander. Into this maze I venture, hear a heart plea, as questions bring about sighs.
I do believe your leap
just like a bullfrog
shall find you quite comfortable
on a porch like an old dog
soaking up evening sun
content with the knowledge
you’re home, complete
Good morning Audrey. Do have a nice day β€

Why, Poet, do you leave me sixteen shades of shy? I think you like my poetry. This is a beautiful poem, Cowboy. I’ll start visualizing this one coming true. I’ve always loved porches. Tis the farm girl in me. Good evening, Jay. My day was lovely, thank you. Hope yours was all you hoped it would be. xo β‘

I’ll dip my magic wand into my mason jar filled with bubble ingredients, blow a few into the air, with hopes at least one burst upon your nose. Yes, visualize being on a porch. Farm girl? I thought you were from New Hampshire! Good evening Audrey. My day was perfect π

I may have to run about encouraging a few to do so, Jay. I love the way your mind works. The sweetest of moments, I think. I’m stuck on wanting this to happen. Bubbles on my nose…tis a little nose, you know. π Makes it slightly harder to accomplish for you. *visualizing* Har Har har. Heavens, no…but I’d go visit New Hampshire.

Oh dear, oh my, when you write like that….you demonstrate an elegance of form and mastery of style which causes me to stop what I’m doing and reevaluate the impact of love on my life and western civilization. No fooling.

If you could see me looking over my shoulder to see who you’re talking to, you’d laugh. Thank you for building me up and leaving such a lovely reply. Wow. You have a way of surprising me, Richard.
