Wild West

image

For him, a place to sit,
Question the realities of life,
How to shape Texas into,
A dream, for he and his wife.
This step back in time,
Leaves me wondering,
Was this his perch for surveying,
The objects that were now rightfully his,
A new life, someday with kids.
Perhaps he offered this space to her,
Because he loved to watch her sew,
Soaked in a morning’s summer glow,
While he sat opposite the porch.
Upon that wooden stump,
Pondering her position, her post,
Maybe he had needs and wants.
Or did he have something else in mind,
Feeling fortunate having found,
A picture perfect setting,
To drive his senses wild.

  2. Wonderful, wonderful poem. I love the way you hint at so much possibility but leave us to decide or ponder for ourselves. Is this also your photo? I’ll return to this page, just to savor.
    Keep ’em coming, Miss Audrey.

    • Hiya. Thank you, Shari. I couldn’t decide or my mind wasn’t willing to admit to what I wished, I think. I like letting y’all decide. Yes, this is my photo. I took it a year and a half ago with a different camera, but I felt drawn to it all over again. To savor? Why thank you…I love that you will. I’m going to do my best, my dear. ♡
