A truthful yet sad poem, almost a perfect thing for a Monday (and a Tuesday and week tat feels like many Mondays) ~ it is another longing poem, but this one has a very noble sense to it in telling the sunshine to relax, knowing it will return again but wishing it never to leave (even with sunburned skin!). Cheers to a great week Auddie.
“Just another manic Monday…” Good morning, Sunshine π (Do I get to blame you for my sunkissed legs. Ouch.) I do look forward to so much of what a new week promises. I enjoy that word “noble”. Cheers to you, Handsome. xx
Has to do with fate and destiny. Most of us don’t want what isn’t truly meant for us, I think. I mean, I don’t want someone who doesn’t want me, if that makes sense. I want what is fated to be mine. That effortless connection that time and space has a way of bringing into our life. I simply want what is designed for me. I don’t mind working for it…if that’s what is required. My thoughts were…relax, whomever is worried, I don’t want what isn’t mine. Does that make sense?….a whole lotta stuff out of a few simple words. See how I ramble? Best to keep my thoughts short and precise, if I can…or else I sound dumb.
Visions appear as the sun sinks
Off in the distance I believe
Your smile comforts me
I strain my eyes
The waves crash to the shore
I look up as a seagull flies
I remember you
As it winks
Or was that you?
First of all, I love being responded to in verse. You’ve started something I’ll pathetically want more of in the future. You’ve been warned. Giggle. Thank you, Jay. You’ve made my day. Your poem suits this picture better than mine. A proper longing poem. My favorite. And yes, rest assured, that was me winking. I’m very good at it. π
Maybe, Rajiv. I just wanted to take the pressure off a new day. What will be will be…and if it is meant for me, then I will continue to feel it in my soul. β‘ So lovely to see you, my dear.
So strong, Red. Great ending here. Wow.

Great last two lines. Unexpected. There are times when sunshine is not the right solution.

That’s how cool your poetry is…one line has that much depth! Cool. I see what you’re saying, and I agree, madam.

Indeed, Debbie. However, relaxing into what will be is so very comforting. Grab your joy and dance, I say. β‘
