On reflective nights like tonight,
When my love senses yours,
I’m left bashful and afraid.
Ill equipped through distance,
To help heal any pain.
I realize, my words will never be enough,
And only my touch would do.
You are not ill equipped at all Audrey Dawn – for you have healed my pain through distance on many occassions… and you’ve done it again with this post… and I thank you…
Hope your Easter weekend is most beautiful…
Michael
Thank you, Michael, your support means so much. To know I have any part in healing you, if even for a few minutes, comes as a beautiful reminder. I appreciate your loving words. Enjoy your evening and your Monday morning, my friend.
Thanks. I don’t know what I’ve done to deserve you. I’ve not been kind enough to warrant such lovely support. You are the best of the best of men, Duke. My words wouldn’t know how to attack if it hadn’t been for you pushing me along. Telling me you liked my efforts when they truly weren’t worthy of such praise. You’ve been an amazing friend. And I don’t deserve you, but I’m glad you’ve stuck around. *tears* xx β‘ (I have news, but I’m still processing it…)
Happy Easter weekend, my dear.
Audith! The professor is lucky to have found you as well. That’s a very sweet thing–what you just said. And yes, you must believe in your poetry! You must. It’s tops. I like it lots. You have a great Easter, too.
I think it’s that warm hand and the gentle way in which we use it. I would never want my words to replace what I can physically do for myself, but in the end it is the words I use that must convey my affections.

Thanks, Duke. Not sure about powerful words. You like those words? *hands them over* Give them to somebody. (Thanks for asking…)

Amazing that we writers often understand how little words can say what we need to express and that only a thoughtful touch will convey our sincerity.

Your poem is lovely, and I hope the person to whom you are writing senses the depth of your feelings for them.
