The challenge I was given was to write a poem about love and title it “Love in Ten Sentences.” Now, it must have 10 lines, each 4 words long, and every line must contain the word “love.” At the end of the poem, I’m to include a favorite quote about love.

(Y’all have no way of knowing how many times I had to write this poem in order to feel satisfied with it. I’m not sure I achieved complete satisfaction, but my efforts for your reading pleasure are below.)

Love tends to flow pretty well with you, whether on a high or low so in a sense of this ‘forced poetry’ it worked well (that is a compliment…really it is, ha ha). How is this challenge even possible 🙂

I don’t know how I did it, Randall. I just tried. This challenge was pretty tough, as one of the four words was already taken. Why love flows high or low, from this mind of mine, I’ll never know. (Giggle. I get you. It’s okay…plus I could use a little more criticism from you. My head has swollen to the size of a watermelon with your visit, as it is.) This challenge is possible because someone likes to torture nice women like me. This is what I get when I’m not looking. Hey give this to Audrey…let’s see what she does with it. Kinda like Mikey from back in the day.

Thank you, Duketh. I’m not sure it’s tops…you aren’t near critical enough, probably. Strict rules on this one and I didn’t want to just throw up descriptive words. I wanted a story of sorts. I thought the qoute was of interest. ..very true. Yes, that tree is really something. Not sure where these trees originate from, but they are my favorite. I’ve always loved trees with notes on them.

Hey! Okay, you have me there, but I do criticize you some, however it is always in fun and simply my attempt at teasing you. I couldn’t truly find something to be critical of, you know.
*sparkles* Maybe! No…the Houston zoo did this fall. I was at a conference and during an intermission I found this tree. I wouldn’t mind having the job of placing notes on trees.

Yes! It really is, Adam. I didn’t want to just fill my poem up with words from a thesaurus. It took a bit of effort to tell a story of some sort.
