Following you, closing in on land
Lipping across azure’s cusp
Wildly proving strength
Sating, deprivation
Upon my fair skin
Freckles glisten
Keeping me
Covered
Safe
You know how I feel about you pointing at my feeble attempts at photography, Dalo. *shy eyes* I’m glad my words compliment the photo. Thank you for saying so. β‘
Now I’m longing to hear the rolling of waves, Audrey! You live in such a beautiful area — we landlocked Midwesterners truly miss out on the splendors of the water (unless we travel a bit, ha!)
I’m sorry, Debbie! Am I torturing you with these photos? Every day used to feel like a vacation living here. It no longer does and really has never felt like home, but I’m happy living amongst the beauty I find. Girl, I’m a midwesterner…I love its beauty.
I guess at heart I’m a Southerner, Audrey. Yes, there’s so much to like about the Midwest, but I do love being near water (note: not IN the water, not ON the water; just near it, ha!)
Actually the commentator Heartafire said it perfectly, that your words set a beautiful and peaceful scene. And you did like an inverted stairs with that poem, never seen it, IΒ΄ve seen it structured the other way around so that was interesting and I almost fell off.
Aw, Charly, thank you. I love that you were present inside this poem. Almost fell off… π Damn, I needed that laugh. You’re fun to have around. Do you do birthdays? π
I studied loads of poetry in college, retained about 15% of the rules and I’m just now seeming to grasp the notion of an understanding. A lovely process.
Capable of producing the most profound connections – reaches right in and grabs your soul when well written. I think that’s why it’s universal and eternal. Like great art of any genre.
Yes, whether, music, paintings, sculptures, written word or dance I am amazed at how easily I am transported, spoken to and comforted. Artists are soulful, indeed.
Such a great shot ~ this beautiful lone wave, riding into shore in perfect symmetry that is match by your words. Artful all the way to the end.

I do birthdays, communions, even funerals (which is kind of weird I know) anything that is related to a party I do

Great! (Not really weird, you know. I laugh at funerals sometimes. I blame the horrible singing…does that make me a bad person. Probably. π )

Bad? No, youΒ΄re a terrible person.

Oh relax, I was 13 and thirteen year olds are terrible people sometimes. It was my great grandmother’s funeral and I had her blessing, I’m sure.

This leaves me with a comforted, warm feeling. Very interesting how you also thinned the lines down. =)

Wonderful to hear. This nonet reduces a syllable starting with 9 and ending in 1. It was fun to also make the poem interesting to the eye. π

Love the sentiment and the creative construction.

Thank you, Shari. Twice in one day…aww. This is a nonet…syllable driven. 9-1.

I really need to learn more about poetry. Always have loved it but have very little education about poetry. So, looking up nonet now.
