Today, (warm splendid breeze)
All I want, (which makes a vibrating heart ache)
Is to hold your warm hand, (your caring touch that ultimately guides)
And tell you everything. (my lifetime of moments, making me who I am)
Only if it’s strange that I could probably walk these tracks myself for a very long time, but find myself tired of wanting to, ya know. I think there is such depth and beauty to the difference between wanting and comfortably. Fascinating, Eric.
Monsieur, thank you, as do I… and I love the distance, time and space ahead, as the walk begins. Such a comforting feeling… It felt like you were beginning a conversation with your comment. Very sweet of you.
Yes!! Bravo, Luke. You’ve got it… I was confused on whether to say it simply, or poetically, you see. So, I chose both… Sorcery!?! *cues the mystical music of fireflies dancing* I don’t know what you’re talking about… 😉
I know that song…! I just didn’t know the name of it. Thank you for sending the link. You’re so thoughtful, Luke. I like having you around. 🙂 That man has a lot of toys, you know…. Hmm..
Sure! I must confess… though I’m not a fan of contemporary pop in general… *whispers* I do love that song. A lot of toys indeed! Whimsical toys that turn themselves on…
Alone in his room with a keyboard. I feel ya, Adam. I feel ya.
Yes, my story. Thank you, Duketh. These were taken in Kansas, while at the lake, with my Dad. He stopped on the tracks so I could get this perfect shot down the tracks. He was so helpful that day. We drove for a few hours and took pictures…it was a fun adventure.
Your story would probably be an adventure! You’re an adventurer, Audith–which is very cool. (You know, it’s just dawned on me what we call each other. It’s become so normal to me, I’ve forgotten about it!)
*cues the spirited music* Oh please, as if…not really, Duketh. (Hmm. Not sure what to make of that…seems like I should probably *smacks her head on a brick wall* I think that might be sweet of you to say. )
It sure is. Regular life–as we think of it–is a great adventure, I’d say. (*laughs* I’ve just grown so used to it! You know, when we meet, and I call you that, I bet it’ll sound weird! It’s so natural writing it.)
Yes, tis so, Duke. Every day is an adventure. (I think it’s great that you think we’ll meet one day. It will sound weird. I wonder if I’ll turn around when I hear my name. I’m learning that it’s an actual name. Imagine that… Yes, sometimes my family will bring up my blog and ask if Duketh is still about and I’ll laugh because they’ve called you by that name. Weird when I hear someone else using it. Makes me grumpy, I bet. Totally natural for me, as well….)
It sure is! Who knows? One day you might find yourself on the field of Troy and next to the professor’s heart! (I know! Bet you would, though. I think I would… *laughs* That’s so funny. Tell them that the professor is here to make sure they can understand their sister. Ooo! Better not do that!)
See? You don’t really believe we’ll meet. I’d never travel to Troy without you and if that happened you wouldn’t take me anywhere near where you’ve left your heart. I bet I would, too. *sparkles* *laughing so hard* I’m going to tell them you said that… Baby would clean your clock, as they say. She’s so overprotective. Middle seems to take your side, which isn’t all that surprising…
Yep! I’m walking along those tracks in this very moment. Just like in my hobo days. In search of hearing someone’s everything…
Beautiful Audrey…
Michael
Aww. Michael, great to know your mind has flown to this exact place. Best for reading my poem. You had hobo days? Wow….kinda cool, actually. My great grandfather had a bit of a hobo’s day back in 1914ish…he jumped the train and rode it to Kansas.
This is lovely, Audrey! Expresses the secret longing in all our hearts. Though no one in his/her right mind would take a walk HERE today — it’s 5 degrees outside (and feels like -25!!) Shoot, I can hardly coax the dog to go out, ha!!
This is nice, Audrey. ❤
