The only task I do not dread
A walk it seems
Provides a clearing, for my head
Whispers of lessons deemed important
Copper tones of yesterday
Found living within my world
Glistening in enormity
My reaction, forlorn
Living nearby among protection
A self induced fantasy
Seemingly overtakes
Crimson delicacies, established
What separates them
Measured, as very little to the eye
Created for a similar purpose
A wild fortress continues to divide
***
At first glance, I let them be
Begin again, walk decisively
Nothing happens without an opening
Allow fate to draw the cause
Turning back
Fuck that, now she’s where she belongs
Nothing happens without an opening. Wisdom and realism combined! That summed the entire expression for me. Lovely.

Well, isn’t it something that you’ve stumbled upon my blog, as my foot is in my mouth. Pardon me, please. The expression isn’t one you’ll see very often, if at all. Thank you for your kindness, Eric. Welcome…

Er, the last line’s a bit incongruous with the rest but that’s how you wanted it. =)
I appreciate the “Copper tones of yesterday” and the rhymes. This piece sings inspiration.
Happy new yr, Audrey.

Yes, it is, and it is how I needed the final line to be delivered. Hope I didn’t offend you, Diana. I appreciate your comment. The poem fits my rather, at times, flippant personality. It isn’t for everyone, I understand. My regulars have grown accustom to my last line twists, of sorts.
Good to see you. Thanks for the visit. The inspiration whether good or bad is welcomed. 🙂
Happy New Year to you, Diana.

Honestly, I had to error on the side of caution. I’d had a few gin and tonics before I answered my blog comments that night. My comment could have been worse. Ha. From now on, I shall consider your voice one filled with humor, Diana. And yes, verily it is so, no need to remind me. 🙂 🙂
My best to you. 🙂

(LOL!) Er….I so wish I could tolerate liquor.
=(
Instead, some days I just write like I’m drunk.
You can take that to mean whatever you think. =)

Haha. I didn’t say I tolerated it well. Nor that I have much experience in writing under the influence, but when dury calls and all that… LOL
Glad to have you aboard drunk or not. I’ve got your back or don’t, if you have no need for security . There’ll be no outing you here, my friend. 🙂

Well, you ARE talking to the Grammar Mafia. LOL.
But even she appreciates her homies.

Yes, that never escapes me, which is why I must have apologized while drunk. One mustn’t piss off the Grammar Mafia… this I believe to be truer than true. God knows my site is a horrid example, but I’m sweet so maybe I’m forgiven.
Eye to eye, Sista, eye to eye. 🙂

I did say there was no need for an apology, and you certainly sounded measured for someone under the influence. Great self-control. If your site were a horrid example, I wouldn’t have taken the time to encourage with all the things I appreciated about the poem.
‘Til next time.

Great/shocking and perfect ending 🙂 You wind us around the branches and leaves of your words and photos, walking along side you as you whisper your words…and then you end it with a perfectly placed F-bomb, and then its off to enjoy the day!

Sometimes a girl has to say it like it is, Dalo. Smiles! Thank you for walking with me, allowing me to wrap my arm through yours and nodding along as I whisper just what I think. Tis just as it should be, I believe. I love when you entertain my poetess moments. Now, race me to the water’s edge! Go! Let’s put our feet in!

A walk among nature is wonderfully clearing for the brain 🙂 And that’s a powerful last line in your poem. Nice to look back and see where you’ve come — but so good to belong in the now. Happy New Year, Aud!

Nature does just that, Gus. I’m planning a getaway soon, away from the city, so I can breathe some clean air. I know it’ll help my heart. Happy New Year to you, as well. xx
