Secure in your absence Waves of buoyancy soothe Pillow clouds form your name Of little comfort now, Inamorato Forced to let my feelings show Tonight, I stumble and admit What I’d give for your kiss
Those waves help soothe again — I like that you’re drawn to them. And I have to admit that I had to look up Inamorato, as I had no clue what it meant. Thanks for expanding my vocabulary π
Hey, Gus. π I bet we’d both enjoy a little time by the water. I could use extra time there lately. I’m having to struggle a bit to form some sort of poetry. I guess I’m growing intellectually right now, or something because I’m seconds away from babble at this point. Inamorato, isn’t it a wonderful word. I love it. Maybe someone will call their man, Inamorato, because of my using it. Maybe I’ll use it one day. You’re always welcome. π
I get those times, too, when writing is a struggle. While they’re certainly frustrating, I chalk it up to my creativity having a rough day. As much as I’d love every day to be smooth with writing, it’s not in the cards. At least for me. Maybe there are writers out there whose stories flow beautifully and smoothly every time they sit down at the computer. I hope your struggle quiets down and your poetry writing comes back π
Thanks, yes, I believe there has to be highs and lows so we can take advantage of those moments when they swing by. Thanks for making my moments of scatteredness seem normal. β‘ (I doubt there is writer out there who doesn’t struggle…)
I’m a fan of crying. It’s very liberating. Sometimes I feel like I need to cry, and it won’t come out. Grrrrr. That’s a bummer.
Hope you’re feeling better.
π
For me, Audrey, there is often a sense of longing in your poetry and here it’s at its most subtle and engaging.
This is fine indeed.
My best to you
john
Wow, Aud. Inamorento. You’ve taken me to Italy, I do believe.

Nice one! What’s Inamorato mean? And who doth thou want to kiss? Too much sleeping beauty I fear.

It means, beloved, Duke. Or lover, boyfriend…you know, those sorts of names. You can guess, if you’d like. Haha…yes, probably.
