If even seconds hold me back,
From enjoying your endowment,
Wrap me,
Hold me still,
And provide your power.
Culminating a moment,
We’ll share, forever.
Hey there, You. Thanks. A simple request that I enjoy you finding, Sir.
Long day. An all day event to welcome new faces to the neighborhood. The water was cool, however, it rained a bit. Cooled the evening off nicely. Hope you’re enjoying your weekend, too.
And that is the respite, the experience that makes the longing and sadness so perfect an emotion π
Beautiful poem, beautiful writing. The photo, not to bad itself ~ a dawn worth rising to an making such a request.
Cheers!
Yes, only you would make that connection between the two poems, Dalo. It helps to have read them back to back as you did, but despite that, you would have made the connection no matter what, I think. It is very humbling to have someone take the time to honestly think about my poems.
I appreciate you so very much, my Photographer Philosopher Extraordinaire. At the end of the day it is desire for the object/person that takes over both sadness and longing in the end, I think.
Thanks Audrey, you’re a true poet!
Agree, reading them back-to-back did help ~ really a perfect bookend to the feeling & emotion described…and in a way, a good way to end the day (if not just to make the next dawn worthy of hope that today is the day) π
I wouldn’t know about that, so I’ll take your word for it and probably stick with my opinion that love, making or not, must be better than a katana fight.
Not too bad.. Except my cousin, rat that he is, told me that i may need a root canal if I am not careful. My condition to him – as long as he puts me under general anasthesia, I am okay with it!
The futile tug-of-war with time, I love it!

I’d like to think that it is even better than that, but I’m not 100% sure.
