I should be peacefully dreaming,
Instead my mind is easily consumed,
With thoughts of gravitational mystery.
Like the traveling clouds in this sky,
I feel a desire to submit to the wind.
Towards an undeniable power, gently,
An untold story from beginning to end,
One I need to believe is eventually ours.

Reminds me of the days when my sons were little, watching the clouds and wondering where they are going and what they are seeing. Loved it.

Is it warm in Nebraska?

It is warm, but not as humid as it is in Houston. The evenings have been fairly cool, which is nice. Loads of tornadoes today, Duketh. They were an hour north of us, but it was still nerve wracking.

We had 70+ mph winds our first night here. I was awake writing on the second floor when I heard the wind pick up and make that humming sound… yikes. I paced around the dark house looking through the windows. Found Middle looking out one as well at…2AM. We looked at each other and I said, “Jel, I’m scared. This doesn’t sound right.” She said, I know, but Big Brother always calls the house before he signals the town’s whistle.” Fifteen seconds later Big Brother the fire chief notified the whole town to take cover. Welcome home, Aud. He told me I could go storm watching with him next time and I will. It has been a long time since I’d heard that familiar tornado sound. Just to meet my fear head on I’ll go with him. He teaches me a lot.

Oh my! That would be scary. But it’s familiar to you. Yes! definitely go with Mr. Big Brother. And he’s a fire chief too, which is really really cool. Glad nothing came of the storm, though!
