Good-bye Texas
I’m driving north
Nebraska bound
Towards a Throwback
Aksarben Vacation
Ready Set Go
Fields of green
Corn growing
Thunderstorms
All welcoming me home
Midwest community
Full of cowboys
Hired hands
Farmers
White collar
Professionals
Many wives and mothers
All the best of friends
Each one
Hardworking
The best of America’s breed
I can’t wait to begin
The transition of feeling
At home and complete
With extended family
Simple redheaded lady
Not much does she need
Just this small town
1, 200 childhood friends
To hug and greet
I’d take you
I think you’d fit in easily
We’ll take nothing too seriously
Over coffee maybe have
Deep conversations
About politics, weather and war
Some of them eyeing you
New person full of strange behaviors
You’d see the beauty
As we walk down main street
Spend evenings by the creek
Bottles of Jim Beam
Laughter
Making memories
I’d show you
Everything
I really enjoyed this one, Audith. So picturesque! Who were you going to take along? Did you take Oscar?

Thanks, Duke. Anyone who wanted to go. No, he’s allergic to Nebraska.

Poor guy. Was it a solo drive? Sometimes they can be the funnest!

Pugs are delicate creatures, sadly. They can hardly breath in humidity, he’s allergic to most grass, and he snores a lot. It takes a sweet and kind soul to love him. He’s best left near his normal surroundings. However, he hates it when I leave. He’s probably just now decided to eat something, which is an interest because he is constantly hungry.
I was the solo driver. I had a 12 yr old Tuba player in the passenger seat and a 10 yr old pianist in the backseat who sings like an Angel. Not many people know this about me, however. They are my life and every choice I make is with them in mind.

I feel a bit bad for Oscar. But I’m sure he’ll be fine. And I bet they are always hungry. They strike me that way.
Yes! I kinda remember talking about the Tuba once. Wasn’t the 12 yr old talking about mythology once? I think we did have speaks about that a long time ago. I was trying to convince you about Helios..I think.

I do too, actually. He likes seeing his friends so he’ll be fine. Yes, they don’t have that cut off the hunger switch. Eat eat eat…lol.
Yes, we did, early on, that’s right. Look at you…. *smiles* Once? More like all the time. He keeps me on my toes and I’ve had to dig back deep into my knowledge of mythology. Yes and you failed at convincing if I remember right…

*laughing* Well, at least he has friends coming to see him!
*proud face* Wasn’t it between Hades and Helios?
LikeLike
Yes, he protects the space and enjoys the visit three times a day. *laughs*
It was, Duke. At one point early on in his reading he began to feel sorry for Hades…for having been placed out of duty.

Oscar! You need to take a pic of him, please! When you get back, I mean. No rush or anythingβ¦
Yes, that’s it! I’m with him there. Hades is a good chap.

I will take his picture for you, Duke. He’s so cute… Now I miss him.
Oh my gosh! No you don’t! You can’t take his side… Did you forget that you’re talking to a redhead?

Oh, I’m sorry! I’m wicked even when I don’t mean to be.
That’s right: you didn’t like Hades. Well, and he has blue hair, I hear.

No worries..I was just being wicked. *winks*
Well, doesn’t seem strange to encourage a weakness for Hades? What am I saying…just look who I’m asking. Blue hair?

Didn’t you know he had blue hair?

Yes, I knew. Just doesn’t make much sense to me…

Me neither, but then I realized (took a while) that it was supposed to be blue fire! And blue fire is the hottest.

Yes, but it just doesn’t fit the overall idea, you know. Takes too much thought…

You do have a point there.

You should disagree with me, probably.

I will not! *laughs*

*smirk* I have my doubts.

You were in a wonderful state for this poem, Aud. You didn’t even need to fly a flag. You had the words for it.

I like the atmosphere of the poem. 1,200 people? Wow. That’s teeny-weeny. But, I come from a country of 1,200 people.

Thanks, Rajiv. Yes, my hometown is small, and now I live in the 4th largest city in America. Boy how things change. Country of 1, 200? You have me beat!!!

No, no. The town of 1,200 people is small! Here in India, a town of 100,000 people is considered a small town.
