Yes, you found it,
This is the road,
The one that’ll take me home.
Country girl,
With a heart for rock-n-roll.
Listening to your music,
Takes me there again,
Dark rooms with neon lights.
Strings that soothe,
The tremors at night.
Being swept away to a beat,
Fuels a passion inside me.
Drinks which prove,
A bleeding heart,
Will do just about anything.
Dance with you and with him,
Either way I lose myself with them.
This time I’m wiser,
I know what I want.
Leadership,
On the dance floor.
Submission,
To a higher power.
A desire,
With swift awakenings.
Wrap me in your lyrics,
Teach me with your strings,
Let’s dance.
Allowing, your lead.
You yearn for home – to be with your family. I hope you find some time this summer to travel there.
Sweet poem – wistful.

I do and I will be traveling soon, Shari. Time to fill that void. I cannot wait.

I do love the imagery! Are you going home, Audith?

Thanks, Duke. Yes, I am to visit the siblings and loads of family. No dancing time, however.

Oh, that will be fun! Excited? Dancing isn’t yucketh anyway!

I am excited. They’ve been tweeting me to death about it. We’re doing a throwback tour of Colorado. I didn’t think you liked dancing, Duketh?

Oh, I meant it is Yucketh! *laughs* That does sound like a really fun time. You should hunt some bear.

That’s what I thought you’d say…
Hunt bear? Isn’t the right time of year I don’t think, but we will be hiking where I saw a huge bear. I was a teenager at the time and had refused to hike any further than the meadow that day, which is a long hike…long enough anyway. Well, everyone else decided to hike even further up to a place called Jasper, which is to tip top of the mountain and has wonderful fishing and snow in the summer. Pretty cool, right? Yes, well, I had agreed to watch my little sister explore in the meadow by the river. Play in the water..pick flowers, chase butterflies… you know all those unmanly things. She and I saw a bear…he didn’t bother us, but boy I was worried worried worried. I wonder if he’ll come see me this time?
LikeLike
Oh my! That would be worrisome. Well, if he does, I hope he’s sweet. (Girls are allowed to do unmanly things!) Was it a Grizzly?

I was pretty scared, actually. Fifteen and in charge of an eleven year old in the middle of the Rocky Mountains and a bear passes by. My hope was that he’d already eaten someone else. We stood like statues. I knew they weren’t afraid of water, so the river wasn’t an option. We hid near a boulder and watched him walk away. Maybe it was a she, and did seem a bit young, so that may be what saved us. I think I made my sister sit there for a long time. Hours, I bet. Just hoping the bear was long gone. For sure, it was a Grizzly. It’s a beautiful place and there are a lot of hikers, so the bear may have been a bit used to us being around. (I do enjoy lots of unmanly things in manly areas, which most men do not like women to do.)

That is such a neat story. It would have been frightening. And you did the smartest thing for sure. Could you have climbed a tree? (A Humdinger! Still trying to wrap my head around that!)

Climbed a tree, yes, but I don’t think any of them would have been good tree climbing material, however. (It didn’t make sense, then, huh?)

Bears can be so vicious. That is a scary story! (Well, I’m heartless and brainless, so I’m a bit thick.)
LikeLike
Yes, it was scary. We were protected. Can you image at 15 being left to you’re own devices on a mountain. Life was a bit different a few short years ago. Now, I’m not so sure parents would do that…ever. (I just meant that I like hanging out with men while they do manly things and I be slightly girly in my impression of what they’re doing.)

How many years ago, was that? Yes, I think you’re right. You should have had a tank gun.
(Oh, I understand! And I like that, actually.)

Duke? Are you trying to figure out how old I am… What’s a tank gun? The big gun that is on a tank? Or is that too obvious?
(Most men do, you know.)
LikeLike
Of course I am! Well, I’ve just seen that gun and one can actually shoot it and carry it. It’s very long, and loud!
(Aha!)

But you don’t tell me how old you are, so why should I tell you? Although, it pains me not to give you what you want.
That gun sounds horrible! You should try shooting it.
(Yep, they do, and they like when I laugh at them and encourge their strange behavior.)

Oh, I”m just being wicked. You need not tell me. I should shoot that some day…
(Oh! That does make sense, I think, you know.)

I know you are…do you think one day we’ll tell each other. You could ask around. Other people know, but I don’t tell you because you don’t tell me. *smiles brightly* You should! Where did you see it?
(Are you sure? )

Oh I think it will all be known one day. Then it will cease to be an interest, which is a pity. I saw it on a Youtube channel actually. Nick sent it to me.
(Oh, I”m never sure.)
