Yellow Flowers

Hello
yellow petals
welcome me in
curves are slight
a simple delight
jagged tips I want to touch
perfected yellow pinwheel
straight lines
toned to stand just so
look at you
bright as the sun
amazing structure
you grow and grow
wild at heart
amidst the fields
I wouldn’t gather you
I’d leave you here
although
a perfect addition
for my red hair
placed through a knot
on hot summer days
oh, yellow flower
why are you so beautiful
placed boldly for me
am I jealous of you
or are my feelings
merely love
denying
the romantic
in me

Thank you, Paul (click on his name to see the pretty flowers) I appreciate the beautiful photo you shared, our new friendship, and then the encouragement to write a poem about your yellow flowers. However, thank you for following my posts, as well.  Romania must be beautiful this time of year. Enjoy! (Sometimes our silent followers need a push to say hello. Ours was a rocky start, but I think you’ll see the humor if you read our conversation under the photo.) Happy Friday!

    • What a back story it was…lol. Ya know, I had no idea. There isn’t an about page to clarify. I just wanted Paul to know I appreciated him liking my poems. My charm almost got me in trouble. I’m glad he has a sense of humor.

Thanks for saying my poem was mesmerizing…
It is a great photo, Randall.

  1. Audrey, you caught the essence of Paul’s yellow Romanian flower. Beauty, love, jealousy, aren’t they all but three cards in the 52-card deck of the human relationship?

The comment dance between you two was quite engaging, a tiptoe through the WordPress nation and language barrier that wasn’t so big, was it, Paul?

And Paul, you and I have been like each other’s posts a lot these days, also. I say to you, your photographs are dynamic. Fantastic. Way to go.

Hey, Audrey, post a picture of your red hair with a yellow flower in it. You owe to to Paul now.

    • Mark, that’s exactly what I was thinking. It’s all part of the plan, I’d say. haha

Wasn’t it. Sadly, my charm almost got me into trouble. I didn’t know that Paul wasn’t American. Hard to tell by his photo and there isn’t an about page, so…anyway, he was very kind. I hope I didn’t scare him away for good.

I agree, Mark. His photos are beautiful. So cool you know him, too.

Hahaha! Now, you surprised me with that request. However, looking around, I can’t find one yellow flower. Dang! I know, I kinda do owe it to him, but…
