Born to be an adaptor,
Forever changing his surroundings.
Nestor, speedy protector,
Friend to the nomad.
From the beginning, central Aisa,
Yet, your homeland is here.
Powerful employment is yours,
To know more, a feeble goal.
Intercepting me,
Yet, I continue proding.
I see through your armor,
Lost in the marvel of your eyes.
The sight of you, my dear,
Worth every sacrifice.
I could find you anywhere,
Dynamic speed sets you apart.
Take me with you,
I’ll provide a view,
Encouraging the peak,
Of the hightest mountain.
Destinations you’d rather not seek,
However, you’re trying.
Flying beside me,
Practicing your speed, agility.
I shall continue to watch,
from the ground, for now.
Awaiting your caw,
which will beckon one day.
Peregrine Falcon, you suit me,
mustache and all, honorably.
Yes. My favourite bird.

Hey! Yay, I’m thrilled you love this bird. I did some reading on them and they are really something to see, so now I’m keeping my eyes open for them.

Michael, your photo is stunning. I think my poem would have been better with a photo, alas, I am no photographer. I just love your poem, as well.

Thanks, Audrey. Although, I’m not sure my photo is that good. He (she?) was moving so fast and I had to do a fair bit of processing to get it to that stage. Still, the wingspan is a pleasure to see.
And, yes, your poem does justice to the species.

It is a great catch, Michael. I like your photo. An amazing wingspan, for sure.
Thank you for that nice comment, Michael.

I used to sit in Central Park and watch the Falcons. They are magnificent birds. You captured the spirit of flying very well. Who is the moustache?

I’ve never been to NY. Glad I brought back a memory for you. The moustache is commonly found on the falcon, I believe. I thought it was giggle worthy of pointing out.

You’re welcome. I do it all the time despite two or three passes proofreading. We all get blind spots to our own work. Just read this today in fact.
P.S. please let me know when you see any of mine 🙂 Thanks.

Audith! *hides in the pillow* This was wonderful. And I’m honored beyond what you could know. And a Peregrine falcon!

I think that’s what poets do best… I think it is an interesting and suitable comparison, Duke. You are a Falcon! (I find it truly mind blowing that the falcon was first used to intercept homing pigeons during war!) *shocked* Did you know this…?

(That’s just too much!) *laughs* I did not! Now I’m overwhelmed. How about a game of tennis?

(Interesting, I think…) *still shocked* Me, too! Now, tennis? I’m not that good at tennis, but I can bounce the ball on my raquet a long time.

That’s better than I can do! I’m horrid at tennis, I bet. I’ll have to try it first, but I’d love to try it.

Well, you should try. Grab your racket and head over to the park. May be a nice day for a game.

Yes, I must find an arena to play in, first.

Arena!?! *sighs deeply and lets that go* You mean a court?

Oh…yeah…that’s right. But you can’t have gladiator fights in a court, can you?

Gladiator fights? I thought we were talking tennis. Are you a gladiator now? Or have always been one, maybe, possibly?
